Young Guests of a Large Library: A Book Festival for Visually Impaired Children Was Held in Moscow
On December 5 the event dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities was held at the All-Russian State Library of Foreign Literature. Visually impaired children from Moscow schools received a wonderful new book sets as a gift. The new books were published by the Foundation “Illustrated Books ... “ with financial support of the Moscow City Department of Media and Advertising.
A fascinating concert was given to the guests of the holiday. At the assembly hall of the library students of boarding school No. 2 presented their colorful music and dance acts. The audience was amazed and admired by the performance of the Amrita Oriental Dance Ensemble.
The main purpose of the event was presenting new book set "Travel about Countries and Continents" to visually impaired kids. Elena Gennadyevna Kazakova, the head of the Press Department of the Moscow City Media and Advertising Department handled the books to children.
This book will introduce young readers to the diversity of culture of different countries and peoples, show the most interesting and unusual world sights and surprise with wonderful poetic tales from different parts of our planet. The children will travel around eight countries of the world: Denmark, Italy, Japan, India, Ethiopia, Canada, Argentina and Samoa. The set also includes a magic reading pen that reproduces sounds, music and voices of the characters and the colorful package-decoration with the figures of characters - a real small theater!
