Children with Visual Impairments Received a Book “Moscow Planetarium” on behalf of the Mayor of Moscow as a Gift
On November 28, at the Moscow Planetarium the traditional ceremony of presenting book on behalf of the Moscow Mayor for students of correctional schools in Moscow was held. The “Moscow Planetarium” book was published by the Foundation “ Illustrated Books ...” with financial support of the Moscow City Department of Media and Advertising.
The Moscow Planetarium has become the ninth gift book for visually impaired kids from the Mayor of Moscow. Each of the above books introduces children into one of the must-visits of our capital. They are as follows: the Bolshoi Theatre, Ostankino TV Tower, the Moscow Central Ring and many others. The new book is dedicated to the Moscow Planetarium and it is not a play of chance because this year the Planetarium celebrates its 90th anniversary!
At the beginning of the event, the head of the Department of Media and Advertising of the City of Moscow Ivan Shubin made a welcoming speech. Addressing children he expressed hope that the presented books would bring them a lot of joy .
Each presentation of books is a real bright event for children that they are waiting for and that they are preparing to in advance. Pupils of Moscow correctional schools have prepared for the guests a wonderful concert with songs and poems that are very pleased for both children and adults.
The Moscow Planetarium is a very unusual and amazing place full of mysteries, secrets and unexpected discoveries. The kids were able to verify this by their own visiting a fascinating tour of the halls of Planetarium. Well, the guys will be able to continue their acquaintance with the Planetarium with the help of new book they received as a gift. After all, the Moscow Planetarium book published by the Foundation “Illustrated Books ..”. is a real museum in miniature and a small copy of the Planetarium. In it you can just “walk” through the halls of the museum, look at voluminous illustrations with its exhibits and learn a lot of new and interesting about our universe. Hot-stamping (elevated) embossing along the contour of images and selective varnishing help to see drawings not only with eyes but also with fingers, die-cutting designs make the image multifaceted, and moving game elements contribute to the development of fine motor skills of hands.
We thank the Department of Media and Advertising of the City of Moscow and the Mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin for the books presented to the children and we really hope that there are still many wonderful, kind and memorable meetings ahead of us!
