Institute of Advance Training for Social Service Workers arranged the event named “Not flowers, but children”
In September of 2014 a teacher of one of Moscow’s vocational schools offered to the parents of the school’s pupils to save money that they usually spend on flowers for teachers on the occasion of different holidays. She proposed to give money that was saved for the above way to children who need help.
The above initiative has found the support for all over the country.
In the autumn of 2015 Valentina Khuhlina, Ph. D. of sociology and docent of Institute of Advance Training for Social Service Workers (Moscow) offered to send funds that was gathered by the course participants for producing tactile books for blind kids and kids with low vision.
The officers of the Foundation “Illustrated Books…” made a presentation of special books before the course participants and told much about the project “Book for gifts”. The talking books with many surface effects made a great impression on the course participants who know the problems of disable persons if any people do.
Every group of the participants gave to the Foundation money that they before gathered for the teachers. Up to the New Year they totally gathered more than 100 000 roubles! That gave the opportunity to make 16 sets of special books for the visually impaired kids and blind kids.
The Foundation thanks the chief executive and course participants for their support of the blind kids and kids with low vision!
